01
Start with the people and the purpose
Tell us what your event needs to achieve and how you want your guests to feel. A networking reception, a company dinner and an evening celebration ask different things of the music. You might want a relaxed background that leaves room for conversation, or a more deliberate performance that brings everyone’s attention together.
Share the guest numbers, venue and broad running order, along with a few musical references. Those details help us discuss a setting that fits the occasion. If a presentation, announcement or award is part of your plans, identify it early so the live music can be considered alongside it.
02
Choose a musical format you can picture
Maya is the lead singer for the arrangements discussed on this page. Explore an intimate acoustic direction, jazz and soul for a reception or dinner, or a more upbeat sound for the celebration. The supporting musicians, repertoire and performance format are confirmed for your booking, rather than inferred from a service name.
A duo means two performers: Maya and one accompanying musician. A larger ensemble needs an equally clear description of who is playing and which instruments are live. Any recorded accompaniment, break music or additional production should also be specified. A performance photograph or video introduces an artist; it does not confirm the exact line-up for your event.
03
Make the practical plan as clear as the musical one
Coordinate arrival, setup, sound check, performance sets and breaks with the person managing your event. Let us know where guests will gather, whether the musicians need to change position and which moments require quiet. Agree who gives the cues for introductions, speeches and the final handover.
Ask the venue for its current music permissions, sound requirements, access arrangements, available power and weather alternative for any outdoor plans. Clarify who supplies presentation and speech microphones; these should not be assumed included in the music setup. Availability, musicians, equipment, timings, price and booking terms are set out in the written proposal before you commit.
